$4 Million ‘No-Kill’ Animal Shelter to Open in Edinburg

In one month, the Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center will open its doors.

The 28,000 square foot building will serve as an adoption facility for up to 90 stray dogs, cats and exotic pets.

The $4-million facility aims at reducing the stray population in the Rio Grande Valley, not only through adoptions, but also pet education.

Being a no-kill shelter, the Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center is a limited intake facility, meaning adoptable pets will be provided by palm valley animal center, which accepts roughly 40,000 animals each year.
